Tanya’s experience focuses on innovative economic modeling to facilitate clients’ decision making.
On multiple projects for the Electric Power and Research Institute (EPRI), Tanya worked with Tom Guardino on economic modeling of the U.S. electric sector. The work focused on understanding
- The impact of proposed environmental legislation, and
- The value of different electric generating capacity options.
These analyses guide EPRI’s research and development efforts and support the decision process of EPRI’s member utilities.
For a bioengineering company, Tanya worked with Tom to design and implement a customized model of commercialization for a new product under development. The model allowed the client to understand the impact of uncertainty in product performance on its profitability, answer questions about future R&D areas, and value product improvements. It also assisted in determining the best deal structure among multiple partners in product commercialization.
Before Cascade, Tanya worked as an Economist / Programmer at ECONorthwest, where she specialized in valuation of natural resources and litigation support. She has worked on studying the markets for diagnostic-imaging services, calculating economic losses from a wrongful termination, and performing evaluation of ecosystem restoration projects.
Tanya has a B.S. in Economics, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Oregon.
